We will ascertain availability on your behalf. However, before we approach any talent you will need to provide specific details about your event such as your budget, the event date(s), location approximate timings and of course, an outline of your requirements.

Based on your brief, we will be more than happy to provide you with free advice and a list of talent suitable for your event. However, at this early stage it is not possible to advise specific availability until we’ve established your preferred choices from our recommendations. If there’s more than one person or act in whom you are interested, we will ask you to provide an order of preference before we proceed to ascertain availability.

As one of the UK’s largest bureaux we can contact anyone potentially interested in being booked for your event, whether they are featured on our website or not. We often have a good indication whether someone is likely to be interested in accepting a booking, so let us know their name and we will do the rest.
Close
We always endeavour to confirm availability as soon as possible. Depending on the talent, this can be anything from the same day to a couple of weeks. As a general rule, the more high profile the talent the longer it will take. As soon as we have received a response from them we will advise you accordingly. Delays may occur due to talent being away on business or holiday, obtaining clearance from television production companies or possible conflicts with other enquiries.
Close
Having confirmed the availability of the talent and their fee, please inform us as soon as possible should you wish to confirm the booking. We will then send you an email requesting all the relevant information in order for us to raise the booking contract. This, together with the deposit invoice (if applicable) will be sent to you via email as a PDF document. You need to sign and return the booking contract to us immediately.
Once we have received your signed booking contract, we will then send the talent their contract. As soon as this is returned to us we then countersign both their contract and yours. A booking is not confirmed until we send you a countersigned copy and any monies/deposit due have been received.

Yes. Our standard terms are 50% deposit upon signing the booking contract, and the balance is payable 30 days before the event. However, if there is not reasonable time between confirming the booking and the event date to facilitate this, you maybe asked to pay the whole amount up front.
Close
No. Neither do we accept cash, under any circumstances. The only accepted methods of payment are cheque or direct transfer into our bank account (BACS or CHAPS). All invoices carry clear instructions about how to make your payment to us, whether domestic or international.

All talent featured on the website are classified within a specific fee range (e.g. £2.5k - £5k). This does not mean the talent’s actual fee will vary between these parameters, instead, it is an indication that the fee is expected to fall somewhere within that range.
Fee guides are intended only as an indication for corporate or private engagements and standard appearances to help you determine which celebrities, speakers or entertainers are most likely to fall within your budget. An accurate fee can only be determined having approached the talent with your specific enquiry and full event brief.
Close
This depends on the services you are booking. Generally a celebrity, speaker or entertainer will charge more if your event is based outside their country of residence. You will also need to consider any additional expenses that may be incurred.
Close
Once your booking is confirmed, and where available, publicity material will be provided by us on request. Please do not use any copy or photographs from our website. We will provide you with up-to-date biographies and authorised high-resolution photos. Generally, these will be emailed to you, however, we can also arrange for a CD to be burnt if necessary.
Close
This will depend entirely on the nature of your event and the talent you have booked. As a general rule you will not be permitted to make any recordings, either video or audio, for broadcast purposes or sale (including publication on the Internet). Unless otherwise agreed in writing, any permitted recordings will be for your own records as a memento of the event and will require the prior written authorisation of NMP Live and the person or persons whom you wish to record.
Generally, photographic stills of the event are permitted for private non-commercial use so long as flash is not used and providing you have sought the prior written permission of the person or persons who’s photograph you wish to take.
Close
This varies from booking to booking and is largely dependant on how promptly we receive required information from you, and how quickly we are able to contact and then secure the talent. As a general rule you will be looking at anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. It is rare that the process of confirming the booking takes longer and will usually be due to a delay in information being forthcoming or the talent being away on business or holiday, etc.
Close
This will vary depending on who’s services you have engaged and how far they have to travel. Celebrities and those in the media will generally require a chauffeur driven car and or first class air/rail travel. Others may be happy with economy travel or may even drive themselves to the event. Prior to confirming your booking, and once we know the venue/location we can usually ascertain the likely means of travel and an indication of costs.
Close
The client is always responsible for booking accommodation, flights and trains whilst our office will generally book cars via one of our preferred chauffeur companies. Some celebrities will have their own drivers, in which case we will use them. Clients are responsible for all associated expenses in addition to the agreed booking fee and these costs will be added to your invoice.
Close
No, sorry. Whilst it may be cheaper and provide the perfect opportunity for conversation en route, there are a number of reasons why we don’t allow this. The chauffeur companies we use employ professional drivers and carry full public liability insurance.

Our office is manned Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm and we’re here to answer any other questions you may have, at any stage of your booking.

Postponements and cancellations are treated within our Terms of Business as one-and-the-same. Once a booking has been confirmed the talent will subsequently turn away any other enquiries for the period you have booked them. Therefore, if you need to cancel a confirmed booking for whatever reason you will be required to pay a cancellation fee. The percentage due will depend on how close the cancellation date is to the event date.Click here to download our Terms of Business as a PDF document.

If the talent is unable to honour their obligations under the Booking Contract due to sickness, accident or any other personal circumstances they are obligated to provide us with as much notice as possible. In these unlikely circumstances our experienced agents will propose a suitable alternative. If you are happy with the recommendation, then a fee commensurate with the calibre of the replacement shall remain payable and the booking continues. Should you decide not to accept the recommendation, the booking shall be cancelled and any payments made by you, less any unrecoverable expenses, shall be refunded in full.

No. The date of your event, as per the Booking Contract, is one of the most important details and once this has been confirmed cannot be changed without incurring cancellation penalty fees.

Generally, yes. A number of our bookings each year are confirmed even before the client knows the exact location of the venue. Notwithstanding, if the booking was confirmed on the understanding that your event was to take place in London, and you change the location to Manchester, then this is likely to involve a renegotiation on the agreed fees, and certainly the expenses. We would also need to confirm with the talent that they are still willing and able to accept the booking with the revised location.
Close
Many of the minor details concerning your booking may be changed after the booking has been confirmed. The primary exceptions to this being the date of the event, location and the services you have confirmed. Please speak to the NMP Live agent that confirmed your booking to discuss any required changes to those that were agreed at the time of confirming the booking.

After dinner speakers generally deliver light-hearted speeches to entertain your audience, regaling stories and anecdotes. A good after dinner speaker will generally inject some humour (though not necessarily as a comedian), allowing your audience to sit back, relax and enjoy the evening. After dinner speakers do not necessarily have to be in the same industry or field as your guests.
Conference speakers are generally business orientated and usually booked to educate the audience, impart specific knowledge or advice and talk on topics related to the audience’s own industry. Keynote speakers are generally the main speaker of the conference and often a high-profile name that will be a draw for potential delegates attending the event.
Motivational speakers will engage your audience, adding energy and impact, encouraging them to examine and challenge their own behaviours and attitudes. In turn this will lead to greater productivity in the workplace, increased profitability for your company and will ensure your staff are more enthusiastic, purposeful and focused towards the company’s aims and objectives.

Speaker fees vary enormously and are determined by a number of factors including media profile, experience and demand. As a minimum you will need a budget of at least £1250 plus VAT and expenses. Having said that, depending on the media profile of the speaker you could pay well over £100,000 for a former president, CEO of a global corporation or other high-profile celebrity. There are no hard and fast rules, and we can advise you of individual speaker’s likely fees. Our website features fee guides to help you source a speaker that fits your budget.
A typical after dinner talk will last between 30 and 40 minutes, whereas a conference or motivational talk will on average last between 45 minutes and an hour.

The fee we quote you will be for the speaker’s presentation only. It will be exclusive of VAT (where applicable), travel expenses, accommodation and any costs incurred to facilitate the speech, such as audio/visual equipment, sound, lighting, staging etc.

Most speakers will be happy to sit on your head table for dinner. We can advise about individual preferences once we are underway with the booking. For drinks receptions, generally we advise that the speaker doesn’t mingle with your guests before the dinner, especially if they are high profile personalities. The first time your guests meet with the speaker should be when the host introduces them.

Items that may be included in a speaker’s rider could include information about standards of accommodation and travel details or specific information about dimensions of the speaking platform, lectern and type of microphone, etc.

Generally, yes. Once the booking is confirmed we can arrange a briefing with the speaker. It is rare that a face-to-face meeting is required, therefore conference calls are preferred. Experience suggests that the best time to do this is between 2 and 4 weeks prior to your event. Any further in advance and topics discussed could be confused with other similar events in the interim period. Any closer to the event and it’s cutting it fine to make any last minute changes or amendments.

As you can imagine, celebrities receive hundreds of requests each year to either donate their time for free or attend an event for a greatly reduced fee in aid of charity fund raising.
Despite their hectic schedules most celebrities do have nominated charities for which they have a particular sympathy towards, or are patrons of the organisation, and it is for these charities that they give a huge amount of their time for free, unfortunately all others have to pay a proper appearance fee. These fees vary depending on the name of the celebrity, their current media profile and of course your requirements of them, however, typically you would be looking at upwards of £2k/£3k plus VAT and expenses.
Bear in mind also that having a celebrity at your event will generate valuable local and/or national PR and benefit any fundraising activities/auctions etc taking place. After all, the reason why people want famous names at their event is because they understand the value of celebrity. So whilst it may seem expensive to pay for their attendance, often the fee paid to them is greatly overshadowed by the money that is raised by them being there.
